CONDENSED MATTER PHYSICS GROUP

The areas of interest of the group includes electronic structure of bulk solids, surfaces, clusters and mesoscopic systems. This includes both formal development of electronic structure methods as well as application to various systems of interest. Specific systems of interest include disordered alloys, low dimensional solids, perovskites, manganites, multilayers and rough surfaces and interfaces, semi-conducting and transition metal clusters.

Interest is also focussed on strong correlation effects, dynamical mean field theories, optical and electrical response, magnetism in bulk and surfaces and superconductivity.
